YOUTH CLASSES (AGES 7-11)

Welcome to The Dance School!

We believe anyone can dance! We offer a variety of class options for our youngest dancers. View our website for class descriptions and schedules. If you have questions about our programs or if you need help choosing a class that’s right for your dancer, please contact us.


Our fall dance season begins Monday, September 9, 2024. Our Year End Performance (recital) will be on a Saturday in June (exact date TBA) at the Everett Performing Arts Center.

Level 1 Classes

For those new to dance or new to a style of dance

Ballet 1

Ages: 7-9

Begin your ballet journey with the fundamentals in Ballet 1. Dancers develop strength, flexibility and poise in this beautiful, artistic dance form. At TDS, ballet training reflects both the classical values and modern aesthetic of today’s dance world.

Ballet 1/2

Ages: 7-11

Dancers develop strength, flexibility and poise in this beautiful, artistic dance form. At TDS, ballet training reflects both the classical values and modern aesthetic of today’s dance world. This is a mixed level 1 and 2 class.

Contemporary 1

Ages: 7-9

Our beginner Contemporary dance class is the perfect choice for those new to the world of dance. Dive into the exploration of space, time, shape, and movement dynamics. This class is designed to cultivate movement exploration, enhance body awareness and control, and foster collaboration within a group setting. 

Contemporary 1/2

Ages: 7-11

Our beginner Contemporary dance class is the perfect choice for those new to the world of dance. Dive into the exploration of space, time, shape, and movement dynamics. This class is designed to cultivate movement exploration, enhance body awareness and control, and foster collaboration within a group setting. 

Hip Hop & Pop 1

Ages: 7-9

Learn the latest moves of this dynamic dance form seen in films, music videos and television. 

Production!

Ages: 7+

A performance-focused jazz-based class incorporating musical theater skills such as facial expressions, connecting with an audience, body language, positioning and acting. Students will learn a number of selections from specific musicals and will get the chance to perform them in our in-house shows in addition to our Year End Performance in June.

Partnering A

Ages: 7-9

Learn how to creatively move in a shared space. Must be able to weight share.

This percussive dance form is exciting to watch and fun to perform. Combine dazzling speed and precision footwork with syncopated rhythms to perform thrilling dance sequences.

Intro to Dance

Ages: 7-10

Homeschool Dance

Ages: 7-11

This morning class offers a dynamic blend of dance and fitness activities to enhance physical health and creative expression. In this class, students will engage in a variety of dance styles and movement exercises tailored to their age and skill level. From energizing warm-ups to fun choreography, each session is crafted to promote endurance, flexibility, and coordination while igniting a passion for dance. This class can be a great addition to a homeschool curriculum, fostering both physical fitness and artistic development.

Level 2 Classes

For dancers who are evaluated to join a level 2+ class. 

Ballet 1/2

Ages: 7-11

Dancers develop strength, flexibility and poise in this beautiful, artistic dance form. At TDS, ballet training reflects both the classical values and modern aesthetic of today’s dance world. This is a mixed level 1 and 2 class.

Ballet 2

Ages: 8-11

Dancers develop strength, flexibility and poise in this beautiful, artistic dance form. At TDS, ballet training reflects both the classical values and modern aesthetic of today’s dance world. This class is recommended for dancers with at least 1-2 years of ballet training and familiar with basic ballet terminology.

Ballet 2B

Ages: 8-12

Dancers develop strength, flexibility and poise in this beautiful, artistic dance form. At TDS, ballet training reflects both the classical values and modern aesthetic of today’s dance world. This class is recommended for dancers with at least 3-4 years of ballet training.

Contemporary 2/3

Ages: 8-10

Dive into the exploration of space, time, shape, and movement dynamics. This class is designed to cultivate movement exploration, enhance body awareness and control, and foster collaboration within a group setting. 

Hip Hop & Pop 2

Ages: 9-11

Tap 1/2

Ages: 7-11

Homeschool Dance

Ages: 7-11

In this class, students will engage in a variety of dance styles and movement exercises tailored to their age and skill level. From energizing warm-ups to fun choreography, each session is crafted to promote endurance, flexibility, and coordination while igniting a passion for dance. Level 3 Classes

Ballet 3

Ages: 11+

Dancers develop strength, flexibility and poise in this beautiful, artistic dance form. At TDS, ballet training reflects both the classical values and modern aesthetic of today’s dance world.

Choreography Studies

Ages: 10+

Introducing students to the various elements of choreography, this class allows students to assume the roles of dancer and choreographer in developing improvisation, directing, and performance skills to produce and perform original group compositions. Choreography Studies will focus on creating a full three minute routine that will be showcased in I Love To Dance Performance and the Year End Performance.

Contemporary 3/4

Ages: 10+

Explore space, time, shape, and movement dynamics. Dancers develop core strength, agility and the ability to move three dimensionally through space. 

Hip Hop & Pop 3/4

Ages: 10+

Learn the latest moves of this dynamic dance form seen in films, music videos and television. 

Pop!

Ages: 10+

An upbeat jazz-based class to popular music influences by jazz funk, lyrical jazz, and hip hop. There is a seriously fun focus on style, attitude, musicality, and performance quality while also incorporating technical jazz elements like jumps, turns and kicks. Is your dream to be a backup dancer for your favorite singer? Then this is the class for you!
