Thank you for attending our 2023 production of The Nutcracker!

This event, on December 9th, featured our largest cast with our biggest audience – including a sold out evening performance. We believe dance and performances should be accessible – through a grant we received from the City of Everett we were able to give 500 free tickets to the community.

Auditions for our 2024 Nutcracker will be on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at The Dance School. More information below.

    500 Free Tickets

Our 2023 performance of The Nutcracker was supported, in part, by a grant from the City of Everett. Thank you to the Everett Cultural Arts Commission for supporting The Dance School.

The Dance School is committed to providing financial assistance for families wanting to attend class at our studio, and to attend our performances. We recognize that the past few years has presented many financial challenges for the community and believe dance should be accessible to everyone.

Please Note: We kindly ask community members who can afford tickets to please purchase tickets at the link above. Ticket sales help cover the production costs as well as the theater rental, auditorium manager, custodians, lighting and sound crew, insurance, etc. Our free tickets are intended for those who need a little assistance with attending a community event. It is made possible by our sponsors, donors and ticket sales. Thank you for supporting The Dance school!

The Dance School is a non profit 501(c)3 arts organization dedicated to celebrating the art of dance. Join us for our annual holiday tradition as we tell the story of Clara and The Nutcracker.

The Dance School hires a professional photographer/videographer for all of our performances. Recordings of the performance will be available for purchase after the show.

There will be no video recording or photography allowed during our performances, this includes no cellphone use. This is distracting to others in our audience who are trying to watch their dancers perform on stage. For photos and videos of the performance please purchase a package offered by the professionals.

Tickets to the performances will be available on November 1st

This year we are offering a FREE 45-minute matinee performance of: Land of Sweets.

The Dance School believes dance and performances should be accessible to everyone. We are excited to offer our first sensory friendly event and for families with young children. We will perform the second act of our Nutcracker Production: Land of Sweets

What is a sensory friendly performance?  A sensory friendly performance is a welcoming and supportive environment for audience members who may have sensory processing challenges and for families with young children to share a live performance experience with their friends and family. This is a 45-minute performance where music will be at a slightly lower level, auditorium lights (above the audience) will remain on at a low level during the performance, audience members are free to talk, stand, use tablets or electronic devices with headphones as needed, and we will have a designated quiet corner in the lobby for those who may need a break from the auditorium.

As a non-profit organization, we depend on the generosity and support of our community. Tuition funds approximately 70% of our operating expenses and the rest comes from individual, foundation, public agencies and corporate support. All donations, no matter their size, help us continue the legacy of dance in downtown Everett.
