 SCHOLARSHIP FAQ

How do I apply for a financial scholarship?

All interested families can apply for a financial scholarship via the online application below. Please allow 7-10 business days for your application to be reviewed. Applicants will be contacted via email with the final award and decision.

If I received a financial scholarship in a past season, do I need to reapply?

Yes. All families, new or returning, will need to submit an application for each dance season. This year our application is via the online form below.

Should I enroll in a class before applying for a scholarship?

We recommend applying for a scholarship first, before registering for any classes.

Can I receive financial scholarship for multiple classes?

Yes. Scholarships can be used for dancers interested in joining multiple classes in a season or session. Awards range from 50-100% off tuition.

What if I do not qualify based on my household income?

The Dance School recognizes that the past few years has presented many financial challenges for our community. We believe dance should be accessible to everyone. We encourage all interested families to submit an online application and include a brief statement explaining circumstances and any pertinent financial information that will assist our committee in its decision.

How are scholarship awards decided?

After submitting your application and pertaining documents, your application will be submitted to our Board of Directors. We are committed to considering all circumstances when awarding financial aid. Scholarship awards will be based on eligibility (per federal income eligibility guidelines used to determine free and reduced school lunch program or equivalent) first, and the amount of TDS scholarship funds available second.

What documentation should I provide?

Examples of documentation to submit include: letter/form from your school district approving your family for free/reduce lunch program, A copy of IRS tax filing, most recent paystubs indicating household income, TANF, SSI, SNAP, etc.

To receive our maximum level of support requires proof of household income such as most recent year IRS-1040 or two recent paystubs.
