Style Description:

Dancers develop strength, flexibility and poise in this beautiful, artistic dance form. At TDS, ballet training reflects both the classical values and modern aesthetic of today’s dance world. A great choice not only for the serious ballet student, but for those just getting started in dance or dancers who want to sharpen their skills in other dance forms.

Pointe – By instructor approval and completion of Pre Pointe
*Pointe requires concurrent enrollment in a Ballet technique class. 

Ballet Dress Code:

Traditional Ballet Attire: Plain black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Sweater and leggings optional for warm ups. Hair pulled back in a bun if possible, or pulled back and secured.

or- Plain black or white t-shirt, black athletic pants or jazz pants, and black or pink ballet shoes. Hair pulled back and secured.

TAP

Style Description:

Learn to make music with your feet! This percussive dance form is exciting to watch and fun to perform. Combine dazzling speed and precision footwork with syncopated rhythms to perform thrilling dance sequences.

*Performance Tap is by instructor invitation and is a performance based class for dancers levels 3+.

Tap Dress Code:

Solid color shirt or leotard, black jazz pants or leggings, black oxford tap shoes,  hair pulled back and secured.

JAZZ

Style Description:

Move to the rhythms of this exciting dance style seen in musical theater and entertainment. In this fast paced, high-energy classes, you will gain strength, flexibility, coordination and endurance. Special emphasis on musicality and performance skills.

Style Description:

Explore space, time, shape, and movement dynamics while developing core strength, agility and the ability to move three dimensionally through space.

Style Description:

Learn the latest moves of this dynamic dance form seen in films, music videos and television. Music and moves are always age appropriate. A great choice for students new to dance or in combination with other styles.

Hip Hop Dress Code:

T-shirt or tank top, comfortable pants or shorts (no shorter than fingertips), hair pulled back and secured. Street shoes will not be allowed in the studio, please bring indoor only non-marking athletic/tennis shoes.

BOMA

BOMA (Best of My Abilities) Kids

BOMA (Best of My Abilities) Teens

Style Description:

Best Of My Ability is an inclusive class for those who need more support due to specific sensory needs or physical challenges which may take a little more individual instruction and creativity. Students will gain body awareness and skills to be positive, creative, and empathetic relationship- builders, communicators, and artists.

BOMA Dress Code:

Comfortable clothing for sitting and dancing.

CHOREOGRAPHY STUDIES

Choreography Studies
  Saturdays 1:30pm-2:30pm with Nikki

Style Description:

This class introduces students to the elements of choreography and the creative processes of composing dances. Students assume the role of of dancer and choreographer in developing improvisation, directing, and performance skills to produce and perform original group compositions. 

Choreography Studies will create full three minute routines that will be showcased in the I Love To Dance Performance in March and our Year End Performance in June.

Form fitting shirt or tank top, jazz pants or leggings, dance shoes (ballet, jazz, half sole), hair pulled back and secured.  

EMMBODY

Emmbody
  Tuesdays 7:45pm-8:45pm with Emmy

Style Description:

Emmbody uses both ballet technique and contemporary dance movements. In this class you will “Emmbody” what you have learned at the barre and use it center floor in movement and dance. Recommended for dancers in levels 3+ with previous ballet experience and familiar with ballet terminology.


Emmbody Dress Code:

Form fitting shirt or tank top, jazz pants or leggings, ballet shoes, hair pulled back and secured.  OR leotard, tights and ballet shoes, hair pulled back and secured.

PARTNERING

Partnering A (ages 8-11)

Style Description:

Learn how to creatively move in a shared space. Must be able to weight share.

Style Description:

This class introduces students to the elements of choreography and the creative processes of composing dances to tell a story. Combining movement, voice and poetry to create a story as original as you.

TURNS/LEAPS

Turns and Leaps
  Saturdays 12:30pm-1:30pm with Nikki

Style Description:

Improve your dance technique in this class focused on turns and leaps. Learn the proper breakdown of each move and expand your skills! This class is designed for both new dancers learning the foundations of dance, and for those experienced looking to improve and learn new tricks.
